OK, I was just reading through a few things on how much I should bet, so on and so forth and I just wanted to make sure I got it straight because I have been betting around $20 per bet.

I only started with a bankroll of $200. And if everything is done in units and I just want to be an average better, I should bet 3 units, which comes out to $6 per bet. Is that correct?

Of course, I have been down recently because I am trying to increase my bankroll as much as possible. But of course I don't want to lose it all. I just want to be a casual bettor that makes the games more interesting.

Let me know what you think.

An average bet should be about 2 1/2 percent of your bankroll.
If you are starting out with 200 dollars, five dollars a wager should be fine. (between 4 and six dollars)

You should rate your games from 1 unit to 5 units
* = units
You should never bet more than 5 percent of your bank on any one game.

If you absolutly love a game, bet it 5* or 5 percent of your bank, in this case 10 dollars, if you like the game, 2 to 3 * should be the bet, or about 4 dollars or so (with a $200 working capitol)

If a game is on TV, and you want a little action, and you kinda think a team will win, .5 or no more than 1* shoulde be risked, 1 dollar would be the play.

Books like DSI or 5Dimes have a 1 dollar min.

So basically if your bankroll goes down, you will be betting less and if your bankroll goes up, then you will be betting more. Correct?

Correct.
If you get hot, and that 200 is now 300, your average bet should be about 6 to 7 dollars now, if you run into a dry spell, and your bank is down to 150, your average bet should be about 3 dollars.

It's all about how you manage your money, it's just that simple.

Well then I hope I win my bets that I made today before I read about all this. Have Cle -2.5 and College of Charleston +9 at $22 each. We'll see how that goes.

Thanks again and I am sure you will be hearing from me again.

Now manage those winnings son.
If you are in this for the long haul, and average bet from here on out should be 2 to 3 percent of your bankroll.

OK, one last question. When you say 2 to 3 percent of my bankroll, do you mean each bet? Or total per day? I have not been making more than a couple bets per day anyway.

It would keep growing if I had stayed away from O/U bets. For some reason I just cannot win those. Especially when I see them on TV. That Mavs game from Friday night killed me.
